Registrar
Vacancy : 01 (UR)
Minimum pay: Rs. 43,000/- in PB-4 plus GP of Rs. 10,000/- (with transport allowance and DA as presently applicable, the gross adds upto Rs. 84,862/- p.m.).
The Registrar shall be provided with rent free family accommodation.
Minimum Qualification:
Postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade.
Minimum Experience: 15 years in post (s) with GP/AGP of Rs. 7,000/- and above or 8 years with GP/AGP of Rs. 8,000/- and above or equivalent scale, with considerable experience in administration of institutions of higher education/research, or 15 years of administrative experience in Universities or research                      establishments, of which 8 years should be with GP of Rs. 7,600/- or above in the post of Dy. Registrar or equivalent.
Age limit: 52 years as on last date of submitting application.
2.
Deputy Registrar
Vacancy : 02 (UR)
Minimum pay: Rs. 21,900/- in PB-3 plus GP of Rs.7,600/- (with HRA, TA and DA as presently applicable, the gross adds upto Rs. 55,277/- p.m.)
After 5 years PB-4 with GP of Rs. 8,700/-.
Minimum Qualification:
Postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade.
Minimum Experience: 09 years, in post(s) in PB-3 with AGP of Rs. 6,000/- or its equivalent grade with experience in (i) academic & general administration or in (ii) accounts, audit’s and purchase, or in an administrative position at an Institution of higher learning with experience in either group of above mentioned areas with atleast 5 years as Assistant Registrar in PB-3 with GP of Rs. 5,400/- or an equivalent scale.
Age limit: 48 years as on last date of submitting application.

Assistant Registrar
Vacancy : 04 (3 UR + 1 OBC)
Minimum pay: in PB-3 with GP of Rs. 5,400/- (with HRA, TA and DA as presently applicable, the gross adds upto Rs. 40,742/-p.m.)


Minimum Qualification:
Postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade.
Minimum Experience: Eight years of which at least 3 years of work experience in a senior supervisory capacity in several areas of material procurement/accounts/audit/general administration/finance/legal matters/academic and examination affairs in institution of higher learning or in comparable private organizations.
Age limit: 45 years as on last date of submitting application.

Librarian
Vacancy : 01 (UR)
Minimum pay: Rs.43,000/- in PB-4 plus GP of Rs. 10,000/- (with HRA, TA and DA as presently applicable, the gross adds upto Rs. 95,462/-p.m.).


Minimum Qualification:
Postgraduate degree in Library science/information science/documentation, with atleast 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven points scale and a consistently good academic record.
Desirable: Ph.D degree in Library science/information science/documentation/archives & manuscript - keeping, evidence of computerization & innovations in library services relevant publications and professional commitment.
Minimum Experience: At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian or in equivalent position at a University or a reputed Institute Library.
Age limit: 52 years as on last date of submitting application.
5.
Deputy Librarian
Vacancy : 01 (UR)
Minimum pay : Rs.23,890/- in PB-3 plus GP of Rs. 8,000/- (with HRA, TA and DA as presently applicable, the gross adds upto Rs. 59,364/-p.m.)
After 5 years, PB-4 with AGP of Rs.9,000/-
Minimum Qualification:
Postgraduate degree in Library science/information science/documentation, with atleast 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven points scale and a consistently good academic record.
Desirable: M.Phil./Ph.D degree in Library science/information science/documentation/archives & manuscript - keeping; knowledge of library computerization, evidence of innovative library service, professional commitment and relevant publications. 
Minimum Experience: At least 9 years of work experience as Assistant Librarian including 5 years in senior scale with AGP of Rs. 7,000/- or an equivalent position at an University or reputed Institute Library.
Age limit: 48 years as on last date of submitting application.


 
Note:
(i)           Though all the above mentioned posts form parts of regular vacancies, appointment      can also be made on Deputation or Contract basis on mutual agreement.
(ii)         Selection Committee reserves the right to offer lower position to any candidate if it          so deems fit.
(iii)       Selection Committee reserves the right not to select any candidate for a post.
(iv)       For the appointee(s) to the position(s) of Registrar/Librarian, the Board of Governors of             the Institute, in the Institute’s interest, may decide at its discretion to assign additional     duties, besides the normal duties or altogether different/new from existing           normal duties,           without affecting the salary and other facilities that the incumbent(s) would be getting at            the time.



General Conditions:
1.      Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST & PH candidates and of 3 years for OBC candidates and Ex-servicemen is allowed. Age relaxation for persons with experience in relevant positions at IITs shall be permitted with prior approval of competent authority.
2.      Persons employed in Govt./Semi-Govt. organizations or Educational Institutions should apply through proper channel.
3.      Applications with full particulars quoting advertisement number together with a Demand Draft of Rs. 100/- (no application fee for SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates) drawn on a nationalized bank, in favour of IIT Gandhinagar Account, payable at Ahmedabad and self attested copies of certificates/testimonials of qualification, experience and caste (in case of OBC, latest non-creamy layer certificate is essential)/PH (authorized medical certificate), should reach Assistant Registrar (Admin.), IIT Gandhinagar, Vishwakarma Govt. Engineering College Campus, Chandkheda, Ahmedabad – 382424, on or before 31.05.2011.
4.      Candidates wishing to apply for more than one post, must use separate forms for each application and additional Demand Draft.
5.      Candidates, who applied for the post of Registrar against the Advt. No. D-31/08-09, dated 29/09/2008, intending still to be considered for the post, must apply again as per this new advertisement, alongwith all certificates/testimonials and tick mark the application renewal – box. However, they need not attach a Demand Draft any more.
6.      Out station candidates called for interview, shall be reimbursed travel expenses from place of residence to Ahmedabad and back as per entitlement, on production of proof of booking of atleast one passage.
7.      No interim correspondence will be entertained. Canvassing in any form shall lead to automatic disqualification.
