Indian Army, Technical Graduate Course (TGC) July 2012

Applications have been invited by Indian Army from Engineering Graduates, Married / Unmarried Male including temporary Central / State Govt. servants, serving personnel of the regular Army and Territorial Army (including officers of Territorial Army) and serving personnel of Navy and Air Force for grant of permanent commission in the Indian Army.

Eligibility:a) Age Limit:
(i) For Engineering Graduates - 20 to 27 yrs (Born between 02 Jul 85 to 01 Jul 92).
(ii) For AEC - 23 to 27 yrs (Born between 02 Jul 85 to 01 Jul 89).
(iii) For Military Farms - 20 to 27 yrs (Born between o2 Jul 85 to 01 Jul 92).

b) Educational Qualification:
(i) For Engineers: Candidates studying in the Final Year of Engineering Degree and who are qualified graduates of the Degree Course in Engineering will be eligible to apply. The qualified graduates of the Degree Course must possess Engineering Degree at the time of joining training. The candidates studying in the final year of Degree Course, if not already in possession of the Degree Certificate should be able to produce the Engineering Degree within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at IMA. Such candidates will be inducted for training at IMA on Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training as notified from time to time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite degree certificate.

(ii) For Army Education Corps: MA / MSc Degree in 1st or 2nd division from a university recognized by AIU in English / Economics / History / Music / Geography / Political Science / Physics & Math.

(iii) For Military Farm: A degree in dairying or a degree in Agriculture from a recognized university with dairying as one of the subjects or an equivalent foreign qualification in Agriculture (Preference will be given to those who hold MSc degree or have carried out research in Dairying of Fodder Crops).

Conditions of Eligibility:
(a) Nationality:
A candidate must either be
(i) a citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) Tibetan origin but of Indian domicile, whose parents entered India as refugees prior to 1st January 1962 with intention of Permanently settling in India.
(v) a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and East African countries like Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambi, Malawai, Zaire, Ethopia and Vietnam with the intention of Permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. Certificate of eligibility will however not be necessary in the case of candidate who are Gorkha subject of Nepal.

(b) Candidates withdrawn from IMA / OTA / Naval Academy / Air Force Academy on disciplinary ground are not eligible to apply.

Physical Standards:
(i) Height & Weight: The minimum acceptable height and weight for men is 157.5 cms with correlated weight. In case of candidates belonging to the North East and hilly areas like Gorkhas, Nepalese, Aesamese and Garhwalis, the height will be relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduced height. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2cms.

(ii) Visual Standards: The minimum acceptable visual acuity are: Distant vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18, Myopia of not more than minus 3.5 including Astigmation.

(iii) To be passed fit, a candidate must be in good physical and mental health free from any disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duty.

How to Apply:
(i) Application will only be accepted on line for TGC except AEC & MF. To do so, the candidate needs to click on the 'ON LINE APPLICATION' button on website http://joinindianarmy.nic.in/

(ii) Filling of online Application: Visit website http://joinindianarmy.nic.in/ and proceed as follows:
(a) Click on Officers Menu button. Go to How to apply button and then click apply online for the particular entry on the home page.
(b) Fill the online registration form. Tips to assist in filling up fields have been provided as you click on each field.
(c) While filling online application it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available as details are to be filled as per matriculation and other educational certificates.
(d) Before clicking the submit button it should be checked whether all details entered in the form are correct as you will not be able to make any corrections after saving the record
(e) After submitting the form and acknowledgement of successful submission generated roll number and the buttons of print and save the application will appear. It is advisable to first save the online application and then take a print out.
(f) After submitting online application, candidates are required to obtain two copies of the application printout. One copy of the print out application duly signed and affixed photograph attested by Gazzetted Officer there on and attested copies of 10th Class Certificate, 12th Class certificate alongwith Degree / Provisional Degree of BE / BTech or Mark-sheets of eight semesters of BE / BTech are to be forwarded to "Additional Directorate General of Recruiting (Rtg-6), TGC, Section, West Block-lll, RK. Puram, New Delhi-110066".

The last date of receipt of such printouts of online applications is 10 Jan 2012 while forwarding these applications the words "Online application for TGC - 115 and the Roll No ..........,. " must be written boldly outside the envelope. The second copy of the printout of online application form and all the above certificates in original alongwith two attested photocopies are to be carried to the selection Centre by the candidate. Original will be returned after verification by the selection centres.

Candidates of Army Education Corps and Military Farm:
(a) AEC and Military Farms candidates are not permitted to apply online. They should apply only by post.

Application in respect of candidates applying for Military Farms category will be forwarded directly by Post to Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defense (Army), QMG’s Branch, Directorate of Military Farms (MF-1), West Block-lll, R.K.Puram, New Delhi-110066 in an envelope and SUPERSCRIBED IN CAPITAL LETTERS IN RED INK on the top left corner of the envelope indicating MILITARY FARMS.

Last date of receipt application is 22 Dec 2011.
Amy Education Corps only (Apply only by POST): Application as per the format given on website in respect of candidates applying for Army Education Corps category will be forwarded directly by pos to Additional Directorate General of Recruiting (Rtg-6), TGC Section, West Block, R.K. Puram, New Delhi - 110066 in an envelope and SUPERSCRIBED IN CAPITAL LETTERS IN RED INK on the top left corner of the envelope indicating 115th TGC (ARMY EDUCATION CORPS).
